Adaptive Skills Training
Supporting independence through everyday life skills
Adaptive skills training helps children build the everyday abilities they need to participate more independently in daily routines. By strengthening practical life skills in a supportive, play-based way, children gain confidence, flexibility, and a greater sense of control over their environment.
Building Practical Skills for Daily Life
Supporting the Child and the Family Together
Helping Children Develop Everyday Independence
Adaptive skills training focuses on teaching functional, age-appropriate skills that support daily living. Using child-led, play-based ABA strategies, we help children practice skills such as following routines, self-care foundations, transitions, and participating in daily activities. Skills are introduced gradually and individualized to each child’s developmental level, interests, and learning style, creating a positive and encouraging learning experience.
Supporting Families Along the Way
Families are supported with clear guidance and shared strategies that align with their child’s adaptive skill goals. We collaborate closely with caregivers to help them understand how skills are developing and how to reinforce progress during everyday routines. Our approach is designed to feel practical, supportive, and empowering for families navigating daily life together.
